Since 1954 it's been three generations of loyal car and truck buyers who have trusted Stan and Bill Pepple to find the right car for them. PEPPLE PRIDE evidently means something special to Northwest Ohio.
PEPPLE PRIDE has meant keeping up with America for 50 years. Today it means the full line of new GM vehicles -- 78 different models in all -- with the broadest selection of top-quality, GM-backed used cars anywhere in Northwest Ohio.
The one thing that hasn't changed in all this time is us. We're still right here, a block from The Square in downtown Bryan. When you walk in that front door, you're my neighbor, whether you buy anything from me or not.
Mr. Pepple began selling automobiles after World War II, starting as a salesman at C.J. Maxton's General Motors dealership in Butler, Ind.
In 1954, he bought a General Motors dealership in Hicksville and named it Stan Pepple Motors. He owned it until 1970, when he sold it and bought a General Motors dealership in Bryan.
He retired in 1985, but retained ownership until his death.
In the City of Bryan, Mr. Pepple was involved in business and civic affairs. In the late 1980's and early 1990's, he served on the board of directors of the First National Bank of Northwest Ohio and MidAm Inc., and was a member of the Bryan Development Corp. He was president of the Bryan Area Chamber of Commerce in 1977.
In retirement, Mr. Pepple enjoyed fishing Lake Erie and small inland lakes in the tri-state area, and playing cards.
